Urological surgery covers all the surgical techniques used to treat the male genital system and urinary tract and the female urinary tract. It, therefore, includes very diverse kinds of surgery, such as the extirpation of all or part of the kidney because of cancer or other benign diseases, the extirpation of very large complex kidney stones, the reconstruction after urethral stricture, the extirpation of retroperitoneal tumors, oncologic and reconstructive surgery of the bladder, prostatic surgery for benign diseases or cancer, the treatment of urinary incontinence, the extirpation of malign testicle tumors, andrologic surgery (testicular biopsy, penis prosthesis, etc.), among others.
