Madrid, 11 September 2024. - Dr. Enrique Grande, head of the Medical Oncology Department at MD Anderson Cancer Center Madrid – Hospiten, has been appointed Adjunct Professor with the Genitourinary Medical Oncology Department at the Houston base of The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center. He will occupy this position alongside his current role as the leading specialist in genitourinary and endocrine tumors and Head of Clinical Research at the MD Anderson Cancer Center Spain Foundation.
This recognition is an indication of the close and constant collaboration with the Houston center, his impressive academic and scientific record, and long dedication and efforts in the field of cancer research.

Over the course of an extensive career, Dr. Grande worked for almost a decade at the Ramón y Cajal University Hospital in Madrid developing translational and early-stage drug research for cancer patients. He is currently a member of the board of directors of the GUARD Consortium for the research and development of genitourinary tumors and the Spanish Neuroendocrine Tumors Group (GETNE). Dr. Grande was also a founding partner and first president of the Spanish Orphan and Infrequent Tumors Group (GETHI). He continues to participate as a speaker at international events organized by leading oncological scientific societies worldwide such as the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO), the European Society for Medical Oncology (ESMO) and the European Society of Neuroendocrine Tumors (ENETS).
In addition, Dr. Grande has been involved with over a hundred clinical trials worldwide, leading several of them, and has published more than 300 articles in international clinical journals, principally on topics related to bladder cancer, kidney cancer, prostate cancer and neuroendocrine tumors.

With this appointment, Dr. Grande joins the group of MD Anderson Madrid – Hospiten doctors who also hold associate professorships at the various specialist departments within the university. These include Dr. Santiago González-Moreno, Adjunct Professor of the Department of Surgical Oncology; Dr. Juan Fernando García, Adjunct Professor of the Laboratory of Pathological Anatomy; Dr. Óscar Alonso Casado, Adjunct Associate Professor of the Department of Surgical Oncology and Natalia Carballo, Adjunct Associate Professor of the Department of Radiation Oncology.
For her part, Dr. Pilar López Criado, acts as Adjunct Associate Professor with the Department of Melanoma Medical Oncology; Dr. Gema Moreno Bueno, is Adjunct Professor of the Laboratory of Pathological Anatomy; Dr. Carlos Núñez Mora, works as Adjunct Professor with the Department of Urological Surgery; Dr. Eduardo Raboso, is Adjunct Professor of the Department of Head and Neck Surgery; and Dr. Juan Carlos Viera, holds the position of Adjunct Assistant Professor with the Department of Radiation Oncology.
