MD Anderson Cancer Center Madrid – Hospiten and Cigna Spain have prepared a document with practical advice on supporting employees who live with cancer during the process of adaptation to the current work, social and health scenario.

Workers with cancer, or those who live with cancer patients, now face a number of challenges affecting their emotional well-being: the disease itself, the fear of contagion by COVID-19, changes in health care, limitations of social relationships and new work processes.

Madrid, December 10, 2020 - Dr. Karla Vallejo, from Hospital del Mar, in Barcelona; Dr. Alejandro Avendaño, from the Hospital Universitario Clinico of Salamanca, and Dr. Diego Conde, from the Hospital Universitario Príncipe de Asturias in Alcala de Henares, Madrid, are the winners of the first edition of “El Reto” (‘The Challenge’), an initiative launched by MD Anderson Cancer Center Madrid – Hospiten on the occasion of the 9th Annual Meeting on Acute Leukemia, held this year online.
